It was a good tour for those interested in seeing all the must see sights of Paris in a single day however it was not a complete success in that I felt that we spent at least half the time of the tour 8 hrs total waiting in lines Eiffel Tower was the worst. We had a different guide for the Louvre Sebastian who was clearly knowledgeable but I wish he had shown us a few more things in the time allotted. Geoffrey was our guide for Notre Dame, Tour Eiffel and Montmartre. Again, he gave some good insights but I still felt there was too much dead time waiting on lines and being left for lunch at 11am!. We also had a problem with a driver not showing up to take us to the next venue so we were standing on a curb for 20-30 min. While we got to check off those top tourist spots in 1 day, I'm not sure it was worth the high price tag.
Phenomenal tour, and we really did see the big tourist must sees in a single day. It wasn't even a terribly long day, I could have gone longer : I booked this for me and my 15 year old daughter. A driver in a lovely car picked us up at the front door of our hotel, and brought us directly to where our tour group of 6 others had gathered. We met our very nice and very enthusiastic tour guide Joanna was clear and concise and her English was perfect. We peppered her with questions all day and she was able to offhand answer the bulk of them. She certainly knew her way around things and went with the flow of our groups preferences. We never felt rushed at all, either.
We left the first meeting spot in a clean passenger van and were dropped at the Eiffel tower and went directly in, no waiting in ticket lines. We even had time to go to the summit. We saw every inch and it was terrific. We left the Eiffel tower after about 90 minutes and headed to the Louvre. Again, very little waiting, and Joanna guided us to the popular pieces at the Louvre, and showed us the oldest sections and shared really neat details about the history of the building itself. After about 90 minutes at the Louvre, and seeing the oldest sections of the building, the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and a few others that she was able to share information about re: their significance in art history and for their time period which we found very interesting, we were given about an hour and 40 minutes for lunch. Joanna recommended a few places and we had a delicious lunch we let our waiter order for us, such fun if you are an adventurous eater then we met again, hopped in van and a car and headed to Notre Dame. That was just wonderful, while there is no skip the line there, it didnt take terribly long to walk through even though the line was quite long. It moves slowly but constantly. After touring Notre Dame, our van and car came again and took us to the top of the hill at Sacre Coeur and our group opted not to walk through the church but wandered down to shops and got lovely crepes in the Montmarte district. It was a lovely walk and when Joanna called a private car to take each of us wherever we wanted to go.
The only improvement I would suggest is matching the size of the group to the vans provided. We spent too much time standing around waiting for two or 3 people who couldnt fit in the 8 passenger van. Over the course of the day, about 45-60 minutes was spent standing on the sidewalk waiting for the second car with 3 people in it to join us at the drop off spot. Otherwise, the guide Joanna was a joy and she shared such interesting things with us, it made the tour worth every penny.
Well worth the cost as we were able to experience some of Paris' iconic sites over a full day with premier access. We had a really small group, 4, which allowed for greater interaction and time for questions, photos, etc. Our guide, Alex, was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and accommodating. With lift delays at the Eiffel Tower at the start, he instead rerouted us to another site, coming back later in the day after issues were resolved. We especially appreciated Alex's patience in Montmartre as we had a mini shopping spree in Biscuiterie de Montmartre at the end of the day.
This was a great day in Paris. I arrived at my hotel the night before the tour and decided to look through all the options to do in Paris on Viator and started saving them to my cart when I ran across this one. It was a little more expensive than what I planned to spend, but the fact that I was travelling alone, did not speak the language and also did not want to have to deal with all the hassles of getting to each venues taxi's and Uber were costly and I didn't trust the Metro alone after all the stories I heard about pick pockets, I decided to select this one since it picked me up at my hotel and would also drop me off there. This was VERY last minute as it was approx 11 p.m. when I bought it for the next morning. I left a voicemail that night and first thing in the morning and was dressed and ready by 8 a.m. in anticipation of the call for my driver to come get me. Sure enough around 8 a.m. she called to let me know the driver would be there in about 20 minutes.
When the driver arrived I was picked up in a clean and beautiful Mercedes all the transport cars were very nice and clean vehicles. The driver offered me some bottled water and took me to the meet up spot for my guide to take us the first stop the Louvre Museum. This guide Justine was just adorable and full of information about the art we would be seeing this day. There were a total of four people in our English tour and we loved her. She took us in the side door and off we went about an hour before the doors opened to the public. We saw the Sistine Chapel with about 40 other people in there, that is really a small group of people. The next time we passed through there were a couple hundred people gazing at it and even more on our third and final pass through. There are no words to describe the splendor of the Sistine Chapel, you just need to go and see it! My next favorite room was the Galerie D'Apollon in its true busy, ultra rich golden baroque style. Ahhhh! Of course we saw the winged Nike and Mona Lisa and that to was an unforgettable moment.
As we exited the Louvre we met our next guide think her name was Joanna, who would be taking us to the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and last but not least, the cute little town of Montmartre where the impressive Sacred Heart of Jesus Basilica is located, it is referred to as Sacré-Cœur Basilica. All four of these historical locations had a emotional pull over me and each was so vastly different. Notre Dame my favorite and the Eiffel Tower have been on my bucket list since my high school days and seeing them was a dreams come true and the Louvre and Montmartre were icing on the cake for me.
We had free time to eat, shop and explore the town of Montmartre then I met back up with my guide to go see the Basilica and she told all about the organ oldest in Paris and the mosaic of Jesus that took 22 years to create. We met back out front and walked down the hill to our cars that could take us to our hotels or a point of interest. I decided to go back to the Eiffel Tower for the evening river boat cruise a very wise and o so special memory. On the way the driver took my by the Arc and down the famous Champs-Elysees.
I highly recommend this tour, it was indeed one of my best days in Europe. I did a lot in one day since my time in Paris was only 2 days. Prepare to do lot of walking and dress for the cooler weather. Book it as soon as possible so you do not miss out!
This was a great day trip! Our tour guide, Sylvanie, was the best and we couldn't have asked for a better one. We entered the Louvre with Sylvanie giving us the best highlights and in depth knowledge including the Mona Lisa. We then went to Notre Dame where she told the history of the cathedral and the architectural insights. Then onto the Eiffel Tower where we had skip the line access. She gave inside local information of the surrounding area as we went higher. At the end, we went to Montmarte where we enjoyed being at the highest point in Paris and seeing the artist district. We were sad to say goodbye to our tour guide and new friends we made along the way. This was the best tour we took throughout our stay in Paris.
