The best time to experience the First Cliff Walk is in the summer months, from early May to October. Grindelwald is a two-hour drive away from Zurich, or a three-hour ride by train, with a couple of changes required. From Bern and Lucerne, the site is just over an hour by car; it is two to three hours from these cities by train. The base of the gondola that takes travelers to the First Cliff Walk is about a 10-minute walk from the Grindelwald train station.
