With a history dating back to 1810, Jameson is the quintessential Irish whiskey, and the Jameson Experience offers a behind-the-scenes peek at the legendary brand. Visitors can explore the Old Middleton Distillery in Cork, which has been the Jameson headquarters since 1975 and forms part of Cork’s famous Whiskey Way tourist trail.
The most popular way to visit is on a 75-minute tour, which includes a look at the old kilns, mills and distilling equipment; a walk through the original 19th-century warehouse, where the whiskey is aged; and a tour of the cooperage to discover the fine art of barrel making. Also on-site is the Jameson Bar, which hosts expert-led whiskey tastings, as well as a range of Jameson whiskeys and whiskey cocktails, plus a gift store, where you can purchase whiskeys as well as official Jameson merchandise.
The Jameson Experience is located in Middleton, around 25km east of Cork, and is open daily from 10am-6pm. Visits are by guided tour only and start from €14.40.
Did you know? Jameson is the world’s best-selling Irish whiskey and is sold in over 120 countries around the world.
